Summary: This study investigated the diet of the invasive spiny water flea in two Austrian lakes, where it primarily fed on Eudiaptomus gracilis and Diaphanosoma brachyurum. Results suggest that Bythotrephes is a generalist feeder with a preference for epilimnetic prey.
