Summary: This study suggests that the amount of regulatory T cells and the expression of immunoregulatory cytokines are altered at the fetal-maternal interface in oocyte donation pregnancies with more fetal-maternal HLA mismatches.

Physical activity and sperm quality: influence in sperm donors

Roberto Matorras et al.

Summary: The purpose of the study was to investigate the association between physical activity and sperm quality. The results showed that physical activity, even at a very high intensity, did not have a detrimental effect on conventional sperm parameters. In addition, higher levels of physical activity were associated with better fertilization rates in IVF cycles.

Outcomes of pregnancies using donor sperm compared with those using partner sperm: systematic review and meta-analysis

Christopher P. Allen et al.

Summary: The study found that pregnancies conceived using donor sperm may have a higher risk of obstetric complications such as hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and small for gestational age, compared to pregnancies conceived with partner sperm. However, further high-quality population-based studies are needed to confirm these findings due to the limited evidence and variations in study quality and bias.

Maternal Perinatal Characteristics in Patients with Severe Preeclampsia: A Case-Control Nested Cohort Study

Irene Aracil Moreno et al.

Summary: This study conducted a comparative analysis of risk factors, maternal characteristics, obstetric and neonatal outcomes, and maternal complications in patients with severe preeclampsia versus patients without severe preeclampsia. Factors related to the development of severe preeclampsia and associated complications were identified, which could be useful for improving the clinical management of this condition.

Summary: This study found through systematic review and meta-analysis that pregnancies conceived through assisted reproductive technology (ART) are more likely to develop hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) and preeclampsia compared to pregnancies from spontaneous conception (SC), especially in cases of frozen embryo transfer and oocyte donation.

Reproductive Outcomes in Lesbian Couples Undergoing Reception of Oocytes from Partner Versus Autologous In Vitro Fertilization/Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection

Anna Nunez et al.

Summary: This study compared reproductive outcomes in lesbian couples undergoing Reception of Oocytes from Partner (ROPA) versus autologous IVF/ICSI, finding significantly better outcomes with ROPA at first embryo transfer and higher cumulative live birth rates. Adjusted analysis also showed ROPA's superiority in improving reproductive outcomes.
