Olfactory Receptor OR2H1 Is an Effective Target for CAR T Cells in Human Epithelial Tumors

Alexandra L. Martin et al.

Summary: The expression of certain olfactory receptors in solid tumors provides a potential therapeutic target for epithelial cancers. CAR T cells targeting the olfactory receptor OR2H1 demonstrated specific cytotoxic killing of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. This study suggests that T cells redirected against OR2H1-expressing tumor cells may be a promising therapy for a broad range of epithelial cancers.

IgA transcytosis and antigen recognition govern ovarian cancer immunity

Subir Biswas et al.

Summary: Most ovarian cancers are infiltrated by activated T cells that have prognostic relevance, but they show low response rates to immune checkpoint inhibitors. On the contrary, memory B cell and plasma cell infiltrates associated with better outcomes may exert protective effects against tumor cells through B cell-derived IgA in ovarian cancer.

SDCBP Modulates Stemness and Chemoresistance in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma through Src Activation

Cristina Mir et al.

Summary: Syntenin-1 (SDCBP) has been identified as an important protein involved in chemoresistance and stemness of HNSCC tumors. Depletion of SDCBP sensitizes HNSCC cells to cisplatin and reduces CSC markers. SDCBP expression is associated with Src activation, poorly differentiated tumor grade, advanced tumor stage, and shorter survival rates in a series of 382 HNSCC patients, indicating it may be a promising therapeutic target for eliminating CSCs and cisplatin resistance.
