Control strategies used in lower limb exoskeletons for gait rehabilitation after brain injury: a systematic review and analysis of clinical effectiveness

Jesus de Miguel-Fernandez et al.

Summary: In the past decade, there has been progress in the development of robotic controllers for lower-limb exoskeletons to interact with brain-injured patients. However, the most effective control strategies for motor function recovery are still uncertain. This review provides a framework of current control strategies, analyzes the methodology of clinical validations, and explores the relation between control strategies and clinical outcomes.

Robotic Biofeedback for Post-Stroke Gait Rehabilitation: A Scoping Review

Cristiana Pinheiro et al.

Summary: This review provides recommendations for future research on robotic biofeedback in post-stroke gait rehabilitation. Most studies found that visual biofeedback was effective in improving outcomes, and future research could focus on personalized biofeedback using multiple sensors and actuators, as well as exploring the complementarities between BSs and different assistive devices and physiotherapist-oriented cues.

When Self-Driving Fails: Evaluating Social Media Posts Regarding Problems and Misconceptions about Tesla's FSD Mode

Anne Linja et al.

Summary: This research explores the use of social media posts to help users understand the limitations of automated driving systems, thereby helping them build better mental models and support cooperative cognition. By studying social media posts, typical problems reported by users, types of explanations or answers provided, and the feasibility of using such user-generated information for training and assistance for new drivers can be identified.

Evolving Trust in Robots: Specification Through Sequential and Comparative Meta-Analyses

P. A. Hancock et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis explores the antecedents of trust in robots and expands upon previous research in the field. Results indicate that factors influencing trust include those related to the human, the robot, and the context in which interactions occur. A new model is proposed to explain these complex interactions.

Exploiting telerobotics for sensorimotor rehabilitation: a locomotor embodiment

Min Hyong Koh et al.

Summary: This study explores the feasibility of locomotor assistance with a telerobotics approach, where trainers provide physical assistance to locomoting patients through a robotic manipulandum. Initial results suggest that this approach is effective in modulating targeted gait features in patients with locomotor impairments.
