Summary: Recent tabletop experiments aim to demonstrate the quantum nature of gravity by inducing entanglement, with different interpretations of quantum mechanics predicting different outcomes regarding spacetime superpositions. These experiments can provide new evidence about quantum mechanics interpretations and help in evaluating quantum gravity models.

Does science need intersubjectivity? The problem of confirmation in orthodox interpretations of quantum mechanics

Summary: Any successful interpretation of quantum mechanics must explain how empirical evidence allows us to understand quantum mechanics. This article argues that certain orthodox interpretations fail to meet this criterion and that intersubjectivity is crucial for empirical confirmation. The article examines belief-updating in an orthodox interpretation and argues that observers in such a universe cannot escape their own perspective to learn about the structure of reality. Additionally, it is claimed that in some versions of these interpretations, using one's own relative frequencies for empirical confirmation is not even possible. Therefore, it is concluded that it is irrational to believe these interpretations unless they are supplemented with observer-independent structure that supports intersubjective agreement in certain cases.
