A liquid level sensor based on spiral macro-bending plastic optical fiber

Summary: Liquid level sensing is important in various industries, and the optical fiber liquid level sensor offers advantages such as immunity to electromagnetic interference and remote operation. A new type of spiral plastic optical fiber (POF) liquid level sensor was designed and tested, showing good repeatability, a measuring range of 80 mm, and a resolution of 1.03 mm. The impact of temperature on the sensor was found to be minimal.
