Experimental examination of condensation heat transfer enhancement with different perforated tube inserts

A. Vaisi et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigated the heat transfer and pressure drop of vapor flow in a finned double-pipe heat exchanger with different geometrical structures of perforated tube inserts as turbulators. The results showed that the overall heat transfer coefficient was improved with the perforated tube inserts. Among the examined patterns, the perforated tube with a row of perforation on the top exhibited the highest heat transfer coefficient.

Investigations on the effect of disturbed flow using differently configured turbulators and Alumina nanofluid as a coolant in a double tube heat exchanger

Shankara Murthy H.M et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of combined passive technique on a double-tube heat exchanger, finding that increasing the volume concentration of Alumina nanofluid, the number of propellers, and decreasing the twist ratio can enhance heat transfer and thermal performance. The experiments also show that a combination of peripherally V-cut twisted tape and propeller turbulator with specific volume concentration of the nanofluid provides the best performance with a slight increase in pressure drop.

Investigation of the condensation heat-transfer between the wet air and 3-D finned-tube heat exchanger surface with different anti-corrosion coatings

Yixin Zhang et al.

Summary: The study experimentally investigated condensation heat transfer performance with different coatings, finding that pure coatings have higher heat transfer coefficients and copper-based heat exchangers perform better than steel-based surfaces. The results were validated against experimental data and showed good agreement.

Heat transfer enhancement in a square channel with a set of triangular prisms: an experimental study

Unal Akdag et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigated the heat transfer behavior in a channel with equilateral triangular prisms. The results showed that compared to the smooth channel, the heat transfer was enhanced by about 22% for a single triangular prism. The triangular prisms changed the flow structure and increased the heat transfer from the heated surface.

Experimental investigation on the heat transfer enhancement of wall modification inside a piston cooling gallery

Jizu Lyu et al.

Summary: A square cavity reciprocating oscillation system based on CA6110 diesel engine was built to study the heat transfer enhancement mechanism and explore a more efficient cooling method, combined with visualization experiments. This study investigated the influences of liquid fill ratio, engine speed, and surface property on flow pattern and heat transfer characteristics. Results showed that the microstructure super-hydrophilic surface had the best heat transfer performance, with an average 66% increase in heat transfer coefficient.

A comparative heat transfer study between monotype and hybrid nanofluid in a duct with various shapes of ribs

Recep Ekiciler et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the heat transfer and flow behavior of water-based monotype nanofluid and hybrid nanofluid in a duct with ribs, finding that the Nusselt number increases with the Reynolds number and the triangular rib showed the best heat transfer rate. The results suggest a promising future for the use of hybrid nanofluids in cooling and heating applications in the industry.
