A Systematic Review of Within-Population Variation in the Size of Home Range Across Ungulates: What Do We Know After 50 Years of Telemetry Studies?

Juliette Seigle-Ferrand et al.

Summary: In this study, the relationship between environmental drivers, species characteristics, and individual home range sizes in ungulates was explored. The majority of papers supported the habitat productivity hypothesis, while the influence of landscape heterogeneity was less pervasive. Species-specific body mass or sociality level did not have a detectable effect on the support for biological hypotheses.

Long-term changes in the wintering population of the Dalmatian Pelican along the Black Sea-Mediterranean Flyway

Christos Barboutis et al.

Summary: This study utilized International Waterfowl Census data to assess long-term changes in the wintering population of the Dalmatian Pelican along the Black Sea-Mediterranean Flyway. It found a general increase in the abundance of wintering Pelicans across the entire study area over the past 30 years, with the most significant increase in the eastern subpopulation, associated with a local warming trend.
