Stereo-EEG based personalized multichannel transcranial direct current stimulation in drug-resistant epilepsy

Maeva Daoud et al.

Summary: This study investigated the long-term effects of personalized, multisession, stereotactic-EEG (SEEG)-targeted multichannel tDCS on seizure frequency (SF) and functional connectivity (Fc) in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. The results showed that after the treatment, five patients experienced a significant decrease in seizure frequency, and functional connectivity was also found to decrease in patients with a significant response.

Brain functional connectivity patterns in focal cortical dysplasia related epilepsy

Wenyu Liu et al.

Summary: Functional connectivity patterns analysis showed that patients with FCD-related epilepsy exhibited more connections among brain networks, but weaker connectivity between the cerebellum and frontal regions compared to healthy controls. There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of global or regional efficiency, clustering coefficient, or characteristic path length.

Changes in epileptogenicity biomarkers after stereotactic thermocoagulation

Margherita Contento et al.

Summary: This study found that reductions in spikes and cross-rate in the epileptogenic zone after radiofrequency thermocoagulation were associated with clinical improvement. A significant decrease of HFOs in epileptogenic and thermocoagulated zones was also correlated with clinical improvement in patients. Additionally, a decrease in all markers after RF-TC was found in patients with a favorable outcome of resective surgery.
