Sm-MnOx catalysts for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3: Effect of precipitation agent

Junbin Ding et al.

Summary: A series of Sm-Mn mixed oxide catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3 were prepared using different precipitants. The choice of precipitant greatly influenced the catalytic performance, and catalysts with abundant surface acid sites, high surface concentration of Mn4+, and high NO oxidation capacity exhibited superior performance. In situ DRIFT analysis revealed that the catalysts followed both Eley-Rideal and Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanisms, with the dominance of Eley-Rideal mechanism at elevated temperatures.

Analysis of diffusion behavior of harmful emissions from trackless rubber-wheel diesel vehicles in underground coal mines

Yun Hua et al.

Summary: By utilizing a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model, this study investigated the emission and diffusion behavior of harmful substances from a diesel vehicle. The results revealed different diffusion characteristics under various conditions, and identified high-risk areas for the emitted hazardous substances. It was found that the rear and right side of the vehicle were high-risk areas during upwind idling, while the front of the vehicle posed the most risk during downwind idling. In addition, entering a chamber resulted in high-risk areas on both sides and near the roof.

Environmental-friendly production of FeNbTi catalyst with significant enhancement in SCR activity and SO2 resistance for NOx removal

Yaqin Hou et al.

Summary: The research investigated the environmental-friendly FeNbTi catalyst with different Nb doping for NH3-SCR reaction at low temperature, showing excellent activity and resistance to SO2 and H2O poisoning. The doping of Nb promoted the transformation of Fe2O3 from crystalline to amorphous phase, increased the generation of chemisorbed oxygen species, elevated surface acid sites and NO chemisorption, leading to improved NH3 or NO adsorption and oxidation. These factors contributed to the outstanding SCR performance and strong resistance to SO2 and H2O.

Plasma-enhanced low temperature NH3-SCR of NOx over a Cu-Mn/SAPO-34 catalyst under oxygen-rich conditions

Boqiong Jiang et al.

Summary: In this work, a two-stage post-plasma-catalytic configuration was used to investigate the dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma-enhanced NH3-selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) of NOx over a Cu-Mn/SAPO-34 catalyst at low temperatures and oxygen-rich conditions. The results showed high NOx removal and N2 selectivity without NH3 slip or by-product formation, with stable performance over multiple catalyst regeneration cycles. This work successfully showcased a promising low-temperature plasma-catalytic solution for effective NH3-SCR of NOx.

Revealing the effect of paired redox-acid sites on metal oxide catalysts for efficient NOx removal by NH3-SCR

Wei Tan et al.

Summary: The study revealed that the NH3-SCR activity of Nb2O5-CeO2 and WO3-CeO2 catalysts depends significantly on the strong interaction between the redox component (CeO2) and acidic component (Nb2O5 or WO3), as well as the presence of paired redox-acid sites. At lower temperatures (200 degrees Celsius), NH3-SCR activity is primarily influenced by the surface acidity of the catalysts, while at higher NOx conversion rates, the activity is more determined by the redox properties.
