A Novel Visible-Depth-Thermal Image Dataset of Salient Object Detection for Robotic Visual Perception

Kechen Song et al.

Summary: Visual perception is crucial for industrial information field, specifically in robotic grasping application. To achieve fast and accurate object detection for grasping, salient object detection (SOD) is employed. However, existing SOD methods still have limitations in practical application due to complex interference. To address this, a novel triple-modal images fusion strategy called visible-depth-thermal (VDT) SOD is proposed. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches.

A novel vision-based weakly supervised framework for autonomous yield estimation in agricultural applications

Enrico Bellocchio et al.

Summary: Autonomous systems have revolutionized agriculture with their resource optimization and labor-saving capabilities. However, existing solutions for monitoring activities in agriculture, such as yield estimation, rely on expensive robotic platforms equipped with range devices. This paper proposes a novel approach that uses vision-based strategies and a weakly-supervised paradigm to perform yield estimation using only a monocular camera and limited supervision information. The proposed approach reduces deployment time, energy consumption, and cost, while maintaining performance comparable to fully supervised baselines and classical sensor-based systems.

Error model-oriented vibration suppression control of free-floating spacerobot with flexible joints based on adaptive neural network

Wenhui Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a robust control method based on adaptive neural network to address uncertain factors in engineering practice. By designing a compensation controller and a neural network compensator, the error model is approximated and eliminated to improve control accuracy and robustness. Experimental results demonstrate that this method can effectively suppress elastic vibration and achieve good compensation performance.
