Ni-incorporated cadmium sulphide quantum dots for solar cell: An evolution to microstructural and linear-nonlinear optical properties

Prashanta Patra et al.

Summary: This paper reports on the synthesis of nickel-doped cadmium sulfide (CdS) quantum dots (QD) using a conventional chemical co-precipitation method. The effects of nickel concentration on the microstructure and linear-nonlinear optical properties of the Ni-incorporated CdS QD are extensively studied. The results show that the optical band gap decreases and the refractive index increases with increasing nickel content in the CdS QD. Additionally, the skin depth, electrical-optical conductivity, and nonlinear parameters of the CdS QD are also affected by the nickel content. XRD studies confirm a hexagonal crystal structure with a strong (002) preferential orientation for the Ni-incorporated CdS QD.

Synergistic CO2 reduction and tetracycline degradation by CuInZnS-Ti3C2Tx in one photoredox cycle

Lijing Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, CuInZnS-Ti3C2Tx hybrid material with matched redox ability and suitable CO2 adsorption property was synthesized. The addition of Ti3C2Tx with a negative charge interfered with the nucleation and growth process of CuInZnS, resulting in thinner nanosheets and richer reactive sites. The Schottky heterojunction built in the hybrid improved the photoexcited charge transfer property, sunlight absorption range, and CO2 adsorption ability. The CuInZnS-Ti3C2Tx exhibited efficient photocatalytic CO2 reduction and pollutant degradation performance.
