Construction of Full Solar-Spectrum-Driven Cu2-xS/Ni-Al-LDH Heterostructures for Efficient Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

Xiang-yin Ji et al.

Summary: Reducing CO2 to hydrocarbons through photocatalysis is a promising method for achieving carbon-neutral, but developing efficient photocatalysts remains a challenge. In this study, researchers constructed a defective Cu2-xS/Ni-Al-LDH heterojunction photocatalyst, which showed excellent CO2 photoreduction performance in both the full-spectrum and near-infrared regions. The enhanced performance was attributed to the fabricated p-n heterojunction between Cu2-xS and LDH, which inhibited electron-hole recombination and improved reaction kinetics.
