An ultrasensitive molecularly imprinted polymer-based electrochemical sensor for the determination of SARS-CoV-2-RBD by using macroporous gold screen-printed electrode

Mahmoud Amouzadeh Tabrizi et al.

Summary: A novel molecularly imprinted polymer-based electrochemical sensor has been developed for the determination of SARS-CoV-2-RBD. The fabricated sensor showed high selectivity, sensitivity, and stability in detecting SARS-CoV-2-RBD in saliva samples. The sensor exhibited a good response in a concentration range of 2.0 to 40.0 pg mL(-1) with a low detection limit of 0.7 pg mL(-1).

Peptide epitope-imprinted polymer microarrays for selective protein recognition. Application for SARS-CoV-2 RBD protein

Zsofia Bognar et al.

Summary: This study presents a versatile approach for generating epitope-imprinted polymer-based microarrays for protein recognition on surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi) chips, which can rapidly screen binding kinetics of various targets, including the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. The highly affine molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) developed in this study showed lower nanomolar dissociation constants for RBD, exceeding natural affinity levels and even binding SARS-CoV-2 virus particles with higher affinity.

How an ACE2 mimicking epitope-MIP nanofilm recognizes template-related peptides and the receptor binding domain of SARS-CoV-2

Xiaorong Zhang et al.

Summary: This study aims to gain a mechanistic understanding of the formation of epitope-imprinted polymer nanofilms. The affinity towards different peptides is mainly determined by a four-amino acid motif present in the template peptide. However, the parent proteins RBD and spike protein exhibit higher affinity on the nanofilm surface.

Peptide microarray-based analysis of antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2 identifies unique epitopes with potential for diagnostic test development

Pavlo Holenya et al.

Summary: This study used peptide microarrays to screen for antibodies against various human coronaviruses and found widespread cross-reactivity across several immunodominant regions. Specific SARS-CoV-2-derived peptides were identified as potentially useful for highly COVID-19-specific diagnostic antibody tests.
