This 28-year study followed 455 women with a mean age of 26 years and found that polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was associated with a 2.6-fold higher risk of gestational diabetes (GDM). However, hyperandrogenism or oligo-menorrhea without PCOS was not associated with GDM.
In this 28-year prospective study of 455 women (mean age: 26 years), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was associated with a 2.6-fold elevated risk of gestational diabetes (GDM). However, hyperandrogenism or oligo-menorrhea in the absence of PCOS was not associated with GDM.
