Real-World Evidence Supporting Tandem Control-IQ Hybrid Closed-Loop Success in the Medicare and Medicaid Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Populations

Gregory P. Forlenza et al.

Summary: The CIQ system demonstrates significant improvements in glycemic control in both Medicare and Medicaid populations, as well as in patients with type 2 diabetes. Glucometrics achieved in this analysis are comparable to previous clinical trials with the CIQ system.

Glucose Variability and Time in Range in Type 2 Diabetes Treated with U-500R by Pump or Injection: CGM Findings from the VIVID Study*

Thomas Blevins et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that in patients with type 2 diabetes requiring high doses of insulin, the use of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) significantly reduced glycemic variability (GV) and increased time in range (TIR) compared to the multiple daily injection (MDI) group. There were no significant between-group differences in endpoint mean glucose or A1C.

Summary: The study shows that the closed-loop control (CLC) insulin delivery system can significantly improve time in range (TIR), reduce time spent in high blood glucose levels, decrease hypoglycemia rates, and potentially improve glycemic outcomes in adolescents and young adults with type 1 diabetes.

Summary: This study compared glycemic outcomes in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus before and after initiating Omnipod or Omnipod DASH Insulin Management Systems, and found that the use of Omnipod System was associated with significant clinical reductions in HbA1c levels, total daily dose of insulin, and hypoglycemic events compared to prior treatments in T2DM patients.
