Management of Pythium myriotylum in Tobacco Transplant Production Greenhouses

Xuemei Zhang et al.

Summary: In a study comparing control options for Pythium root rot in tobacco seedlings, it was found that ethaboxam and mefenoxam were effective in reducing the incidence and severity of root rot, while ultraviolet light and copper ion treatments showed significant reductions in severity.

Pathogenicity and Mefenoxam Sensitivity of Pythium, Globisporangium, and Fusarium Isolates From Coconut Coir and Rockwool in Marijuana (Cannabis sativa L.) Production

Cora S. S. McGehee et al.

Summary: This study identified oomycetes and fungi causing root rot on marijuana and hemp plants, with all isolates being sensitive to the fungicide mefenoxam. Pythium myriotylum was found to have the highest pathogenicity among the isolates, resulting in reduced plant biomass and greenness. The results provide valuable information on potential pathogens in soilless substrates in controlled environment agriculture.
