The effect of adding Mo on the corrosion behavior of (CoNiV)100_xMox medium entropy alloys (MEAs) in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was investigated. Results showed that despite the precipitation of the second phase, the introduction of Mo through micro alloying can significantly improve the corrosion resistance of CoNiV MEA. Furthermore, the competition effect between microgalvanic coupling and micro alloying in dominating the corrosion resistance of (CoNiV)100_xMox MEAs was discussed in detail.
