Impact of coronavirus pandemic on sharing mode of manufacturer

Zhenzhen Mao et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the pricing decisions and optimal mode selection of manufacturers under the COVID-19 epidemic. The analysis showed that manufacturers will join third-party platforms when operation and maintenance costs are low, and sharing prices increase as these costs rise, while selling prices decrease. Manufacturers will retain sales channels when the value perception factor is below a certain threshold, and both selling and sharing demands decrease as this factor decreases in a growing market, and vice versa. The study also found that mixed sharing is the best choice for manufacturers when operation and maintenance costs are low and the value perception factor is high, while manufacturers will choose no car-sharing when the value perception factor is relatively low.
