The chemical profiles of the extracted components showed quantitative and qualitative differences, with the major constituents of the essential oil exhibiting satisfactory antioxidant activity.

Summary: This investigation explores the cultivation of Senna, an economically important medicinal plant, in saline soil. Integration of organic and inorganic fertilizers, as well as microbial consortia, significantly improved plant growth, nutrition, and economic yield. Organic and integrated application of organic and inorganic fertilizers also enhanced sennocide content and restored soil fertility and biological activity.

Responses of N-Cycling Enzyme Activities and Functional Diversity of Soil Microorganisms to Soil Depth, Pedogenic Processes and Cultivated Plants

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate how soil microbial and enzymatic properties vary with depth in soil profiles formed by different soil-forming processes. The study found that enzymatic activity and microbial properties were highest in the Ap horizons and decreased with depth. Soil-forming processes and cultivated plants had a significant impact on enzymatic activity and nitrogen substrate utilization. Nitrogen substrate utilization decreased with increasing soil depth and was higher in specific soil profiles.

The Effect of Organic, Inorganic Fertilizers and Their Combinations on Fruit Quality Parameters in Strawberry

Summary: Organic and organic + chemical fertilizers used in strawberry cultivation in Turkey have a significant impact on fruit quality parameters, such as fruit color, soluble solids content, total acidity, fruit firmness, and vitamin C content. Compared to conventional chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers can increase soluble solid content and glucose, but decrease fruit firmness and vitamin C content. Organic fertilizers also produce more intensely colored strawberry fruits with higher Chroma values.
