Solvothermal exfoliation assisted synthesis of transition metal dichalcogenide based tungsten disulphide quantum dots (WS2 QDs) and cellular QD-bio interaction in LN-229 human glioblastoma cells

Anju Surendranath et al.

Summary: In this study, highly cyan green emissive and excellent water dispersive WS(2)QDs were successfully prepared via solvothermal liquid exfoliation method. The synthesized WS2 QDs exhibit stable fluorescence and size-dependent photoluminescence, as well as properties including stable aqueous dispersion, low cytotoxicity, and excellent photoluminescent properties, making them suitable candidates for optoelectronic and biological applications. Additionally, these WS2 QDs show great potential for real-time optical cellular imaging and further in vivo trajectory imaging studies.
