Comparison of a Hemostatic Powder and Standard Treatment in the Control of Active Bleeding From Upper Nonvariceal Lesions A Multicenter, Noninferiority, Randomized Trial

James Y. W. Lau et al.

Summary: In a study of 224 adult patients with acute bleeding from nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal causes, it was found that TC-325 was not inferior to standard treatment in controlling bleeding within 30 days. The TC-325 group had a higher success rate in controlling bleeding compared to the standard treatment group.

Long-Term Safety and Efficacy of Prolonged Dual Antiplatelet Therapy according to Baseline Anemia after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Hun-Tae Kim et al.

Summary: Prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) can reduce major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs) in non-anemic patients, but it is associated with increased risk of major bleeding in anemic patients.

Validation of Biomarker-Based ABCD Score in Atrial Fibrillation Patients with a Non-Gender CHA2DS2-VASc Score 0-1: A Korean Multi-Center Cohort

Moonki Jung et al.

Summary: The ABCD score provides a viable method for risk stratification of stroke in atrial fibrillation patients with non-gender CHA2DS2-VASc score 0-1. Additionally, the combination of an ABCD score ≥1 and non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant (NOAC) therapy is associated with a significantly reduced stroke rate in these patients.

Hemostatic spray powder TC-325 in the primary endoscopic treatment of peptic ulcer-related bleeding: multicenter international registry

Mohamed Hussein et al.

Summary: Upper gastrointestinal bleeding, mainly caused by bleeding peptic ulcers, has a high mortality rate in the UK and USA. Immediate hemostasis with hemostatic spray was successful in 88% of patients in this multicenter registry, with lower mortality rates observed in patients treated with combination therapy.

Polysaccharide hemostatic powder to prevent bleeding after endoscopic submucosal dissection in high risk patients: a randomized controlled trial

Da Hyun Jung et al.

Summary: The study investigated the use of polysaccharide hemostatic powder (PHP) in preventing post-ESD bleeding, but found that PHP did not demonstrate a significant effect in preventing post-ESD bleeding. Further larger scale, randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.
