Surgical management and lymph-node biopsy of rare malignant cutaneous adnexal carcinomas: a population-based analysis of 7591 patients

Amrita Goyal et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the prognosis of cutaneous adnexal malignancies, survival relative to surgical management, and utility of lymph-node biopsy using data from the SEER-18 database. Results showed that narrow excisions had better 5-year DSS and OS compared to wide local excision. Lymph-node biopsy did not significantly impact survival in advanced stage disease, indicating limited utility.

Malignant Cutaneous Adnexal Tumors and Role of SLNB

Alessandra Storino et al.

Summary: Malignant cutaneous adnexal tumors (MCATs) are rare skin tumors with generally low risk of lymphatic involvement, recurrence, and death, leading to excellent 5-year survival rates. Lymphatic disease after SLNB is rare in early-stage tumors, and the value of this staging procedure in MCAT remains unclear.
