The immobilized Lipase demonstrated good dye removal performance, with a maximum removal efficiency of 89.47% at 240 min contact time and 5 mg/L initial dye concentration. Furthermore, the immobilized Lipase could be reused for up to four cycles. This study highlights the significant impact of immobilized Lipase on GO in various industrial sectors.

Laboratory-scale and pilot-scale stabilization and solidification (S/S) remediation of soil contaminated with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs)

Mattias Soerengard et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effectiveness of stabilization and solidification (S/S) treatment for soil contaminated with PFAS at a pilot scale, showing high removal rates for long-chain PFASs but lower rates for short-chain PFASs after 6 years of simulated precipitation. The sorption strength of PFASs increased significantly in both reference and S/S-treated soil at pilot scale compared to laboratory-scale tests, with a strong correlation between the two scales. Tentative identification of seven PFASs and their relatively low removal rates from leachate in S/S treatment were also observed in the study.

V. R. Ouhadi et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the influence of pH-dependent lead solubility patterns on the solidification/stabilization of contaminated smectite and the use of NaOH treatment to overcome problems associated with cement hydration. The research shows that enhancement increases the pH of contaminated soil, leading to a decrease in lead precipitation on cement components and an increase in CSH formation, improving the setting-time and strength of the samples. Additionally, the results demonstrate a noticeable reduction in the required cement content and a shift in retention phenomena from precipitation/stabilization to capsulation/solidification.
