Sex Differences in the Density of Lipidic Plaque Materials: Insights From the REASSURE-NIRS MultiCenter Registry

Summary: This study aimed to investigate sex-related differences in coronary atheroma. The results showed that female patients had a higher density of condensed lipidic plaque features and smaller plaque volume. These findings indicate better modifiability of the disease in women and emphasize the importance of intensifying lipid-lowering therapies to improve their outcomes.
