Photo-production of lowest Σ1/2-* state within the Regge-effective Lagrangian approach

In this study, we perform a theoretical investigation on the photo-production of the Sigma(*)(1/2-) state using the Regge-effective Lagrangian approach. We consider the coupling of Sigma(*)(1/2-) to the t-channel K exchange diagram and calculate the contributions from various channels, including t-channel exchange, s-channel nucleon pole, u-channel Sigma exchange, and contact term. With our model parameters, we predict the differential and total cross sections of the process gamma n -> K+ Sigma(*)(1/2-). This research provides valuable insights for future experimental searches for the Sigma(*)(1/2-) state.
Because the lowest Sigma(*) state with quantum numbers spin-parity j(p) =1/2(-) is far from being established experimentally and theoretically, we perform a theoretical study on the Sigma(*)(1/2-) photo-production within the Regge-effective Lagrangian approach. Considering that Sigma(*)(1/2-) couples to the channel, we study the contributions from the t-channel K exchange diagram. Moreover, the contributions from the t-channel exchange, s-channel nucleon pole, u-channel Sigma exchange, and contact term are considered. The differential and total cross sections of the process gamma n -> K+ Sigma(*)(1/2-) are predicted with our model parameters. The results should help in experimentally searching for the Sigma(*)(1/2-) state in the future.
