Single-walled zeolitic nanotubes

Akshay Korde et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis and structure of single-walled aluminosilicate nanotubes with microporous zeolitic walls, which are assembled using a bolaform structure-directing agent. The unique wall structure, a hybrid of two zeolite structure types, was revealed through high-resolution electron microscopy and diffraction.

Selective Oxidation of Furfural to Succinic Acid over Lewis Acidic Sn-Beta

Yayati Naresh Palai et al.

Summary: Selective production of succinic acid from furfural with H2O2 over a pure Lewis acid catalyst, Sn-Beta, was reported. The optimized reaction conditions resulted in a 53% yield of succinic acid, and the catalyst was recyclable. The Sn-Beta catalyst activates furfural by coordinating to the carbonyl group, and does not activate H2O2.

Confinement in a Zeolite and Zeolite Catalysis

Yuchao Chai et al.

Summary: Zeolites, with their ordered channels on the molecular scale, are intrinsic confined systems that play crucial roles in various fields. The structural confinement in zeolites can lead to unique chemical behaviors, affecting molecular diffusion and shape-selective catalysis. Understanding the nature of zeolite confinement from spatial and electronic perspectives is essential for their effective utilization in adsorption and catalysis.
