Heterostructure of CsPbBr3-CdS perovskite quantum dots for enhanced stability and charge transfer

Chandan Hunsur Ravikumar et al.

Summary: The CsPbBr3 quantum dot (PQD) was successfully interfaced with CdS quantum dot (QD) to form a heterostructure with significantly enhanced charge transfer. Various spectroscopy, microscopy, and DFT tools were used to confirm the stable heterostructure with improved electron lifetime and band energy offset. The CdS QDs effectively reduce strain within the PQDs and hold potential for faster charge transfer in solar cell and optoelectronic applications.

Biomass derived carbon dot decorated ssDNA for a 'turn-on' fluorescent assay for detection of Staphylococcus aureus MNase

Chandan Hunsur Ravikumar et al.

Summary: In this research, a novel 'turn on' fluorescence aptasensor based on an energy transfer mechanism was designed using ssDNA conjugated carbon dots (C-dots) and graphene oxide (GO). The study revealed that the property of MNase to cleave DNA was exploited to inhibit the interaction between C-dots and GO, enabling the detection of MNase of S. aureus. The mechanism of energy transfer was studied using different lengths of ssDNA, confirming the non-toxicity and fluorescence quantum yield of C-dots.
