A capable numerical meshless scheme for solving distributed order time-fractional reaction-diffusion equation

Ali Habibirad et al.

Summary: In this paper, a distributed order time-fractional reaction-diffusion equation is studied using the Caputo fractional derivative. A hybrid method combining Moving Kriging interpolation and finite difference method is proposed for solving this equation. The distributed integral is discretized using the M-point Gauss Legendre quadrature rule and the fractional derivative is approximated using the L2 - 1(sigma) method. The space variables are discretized using the MK interpolation. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the method and validate the theoretical results.

A numerical method based on the piecewise Jacobi functions for distributed-order fractional Schrodinger equation

M. H. Heydari et al.

Summary: In this work, a distributed-order time fractional version of the Schrodinger problem is defined using the Caputo fractional derivative. Orthonormal piecewise Jacobi functions as a new family of basis functions are introduced, and a numerical method based on these functions is constructed to solve the problem. The accuracy of the method is examined numerically through examples.

A hybrid approach established upon the Muntz-Legender functions and 2D Muntz-Legender wavelets for fractional Sobolev equation

Masoumeh Hosseininia et al.

Summary: This article proposes a hybrid technique for finding approximation solutions of the fractional 2D Sobolev equation. By utilizing Muntz-Legender functions and Muntz-Legender wavelets in the time and spatial directions, the solution of the problem can be approximated. This approach converts the solving process into solving a system of algebraic equations.

The meshless approach for solving 2D variable-order time-fractional advection-diffusion equation arising in anomalous transport

Vahid Reza Hosseini et al.

Summary: This paper presents a numerical approximation method for describing physical phenomena, using a generalization of the advection-diffusion equation and combining the Kansa scheme and finite difference method to handle spatial and temporal terms. The use of radial basis functions as shape functions improves accuracy and applicability of the numerical method.

SARS-CoV-2 rate of spread in and across tissue, groundwater and soil: A meshless algorithm for the fractional diffusion equation

O. Bavi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in different environments, including water, tissue, and soil, using a theoretical framework and computational modeling. The results show that the virus can travel a distance of 1 mm in water after 22, regardless of the source of contamination. This research provides important benchmarks for future experimentation and accurate description of viral spread.

Current Understanding of Hypoxia in Glioblastoma Multiforme and Its Response to Immunotherapy

Jang Hyun Park et al.

Summary: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive tumor in the central nervous system, and its survival is affected by hypoxia, which promotes drug resistance and inhibits immune responses. Traditionally, hypoxia studies have focused on blood vessels and tumor cells, excluding the immune system. However, recent evidence suggests the important role of immunosurveillance in tumor hypoxia. This review discusses the clinical, pathological, and immunological perspectives of hypoxia in GBM.

An efficient multigrid method with preconditioned smoother for two-dimensional anisotropic space-fractional diffusion equations

Yuan Xu et al.

Summary: The anisotropic space-fractional diffusion equations in two dimensions are discretized using the Crank-Nicolson difference scheme with the weighted and shifted Grunwald formula. The coefficient matrix of the discretized linear system possesses a two-level Toeplitz-like structure. By utilizing the GMRES method with a newly proposed tridiagonal preconditioner as a smoother, the convergence rate of the multigrid method can be significantly accelerated.

A weak Galerkin finite element method on temporal graded meshes for the multi-term time fractional diffusion equations

Suayip Toprakseven

Summary: This paper considers the multi-term time fractional diffusion equation on a bounded convex domain, utilizing the L1 method on a graded mesh in time to compensate for the weak singularity of the solution and a weak Galerkin finite element method in space discretization. Stability analyses are presented for both schemes, with rigorous error estimates derived, and optimal spatial order error estimates discussed in L-2 norm.
