Carbon nanotube enhanced membrane distillation for salty and dyeing wastewater treatment by electrospinning technology

Jialing Song et al.

Summary: In this study, nanofiber membranes were fabricated using carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and polyvinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene (PcH) by electrospinning. The heat-press treatment improved mechanical strength and liquid entry pressure of the membranes, while the incorporation of CNTs enhanced hydrophobicity and mechanical strength. The nanofiber membranes showed high potential for membrane distillation (MD) application with high salt rejection efficiencies and dye removal rates exceeding 99.99%.

Enhanced organic wastewater treatment performance in electrochemical filtration process of coal-based carbon membrane via the simple Fe2+ addition

Menghan Sun et al.

Summary: In this study, an electrochemical filtration process using coal-based carbon membrane (CCM) as both anode and filter was successfully applied for organic wastewater treatment. By adding Fe2+, the treatment performance was further enhanced through the Fenton process, which resulted in a higher removal efficiency compared to membrane filtration or electrochemical filtration systems. Fe-ECM system showed good applicability and reusability for the decontamination of various organic wastewater.
