Superior PbO-resistance of CeO2/ZrO2 catalyst promoted by solid superacid SO42-/ZrO2 for selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Xiaodi Li et al.

Summary: The deactivation of denitration catalysts by heavy metals is still a challenge in the practical application of selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3. In this study, a novel anti-poisoning strategy was proposed by designing a CeO2/ZrO2 catalyst supported by SO42-/ZrO2 superacid. The introduction of SO42-/ZrO2 significantly enhanced the catalytic performance, leading to high NOx removal efficiency throughout a wide temperature range.

A novel highly active catalyst form CuFeMg layered double oxides for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by CO

Jun Liu et al.

Summary: A series of CuxFeMg4-x-LDO and Cu/FeMg2.8-LDO catalysts were prepared by calcination of CuFeMg layered double hydroxide (LDH) for CO-SCR reaction. The Cu1.2FeMg2.8-LDO catalyst exhibited the highest CO-SCR activity, with 100% NO conversion at 225-600 degrees C and a space velocity of 60000 mL.g(-1).h(-1). The CuxFeMg4-x-LDO composite metal oxide, formed by topotactic transformation, promotes the dispersion of CuO species and the generation of CuzMg1-zFe2O4 spinel phase and reactive oxygen species. The catalyst also shows high H-2 consumption and more surface adsorbed oxygen, improving the redox capacity. The presence of Cu+-CO/Fe2+-CO species and relatively low activation energy contribute to the better catalytic activity at low temperatures. The CO-SCR reaction over Cu1.2FeMg2.8-LDO catalysts follows the L-H mechanism at low temperatures and the E-R mechanism at high temperatures. This study provides insights for designing highly efficient catalysts for low temperature CO-SCR reaction.

Acid treatment of ZrO2-supported CeO2 catalysts for NH3-SCR of NO Influence on surface acidity and reaction mechanism

Xiaodi Li et al.

Summary: The study significantly enhanced the surface acidity of CeO2/ZrO2 catalysts through acid treatment, promoting the removal efficiency of NO in NH3-SCR, especially with higher performance observed in catalysts treated with H2SO4. Acid-treated catalysts may follow both E-R and L-H mechanisms in the SCR reaction process.

Low-Cost CuX Catalyst from Blast Furnace Slag Waste for Low-Temperature NH3-SCR: Nature of Cu Active Sites and Influence of SO2/H2O

Lin Chen et al.

Summary: Cu-exchanged zeolite NaX catalysts showed excellent low-temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) activity, with nearly 100% NO conversion at about 175 degrees C. The presence of surface oxygen vacancies and isolated Cu2+ ions played crucial roles in the catalytic performance, while SO2 and H2O could decrease the catalyst's SCR activity.

Effect of Mn and Ce oxides on low-temperature NH3-SCR performance over blast furnace slag-derived zeolite X supported catalysts

Lin Chen et al.

Summary: The effects of different Mn and/or Ce oxides on blast furnace slag-derived zeolite X catalysts were investigated for low-temperature NH3-SCR performance. It was found that the Mn-Ce/X catalyst exhibited the highest NO conversion and N2 selectivity, along with large acid amount and high redox ability. The addition of Mn and Ce inhibited crystal grain growth and generated double active sites, promoting the SCR catalytic reaction.

LDH-derived preparation of CuMgFe layered double oxides for NH3-SCR and CO oxidation reactions: Performance study and synergistic mechanism

Pengchao Zang et al.

Summary: A novel CuMgFeO layered double oxide catalyst was synthesized and employed for NH3-SCR and CO oxidation reactions. The catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity, selectivity, water resistance, and long-term stability, which could be attributed to the well dispersion of CuO species, higher reducibility, and abundance of acid sites. Furthermore, the research on the reaction mechanism revealed that NH3-SCR and CO oxidation reactions followed different mechanisms.

Summary: In this study, different Cu precursors were used to adjust the isolated Cu2+ ions and CuO species in the Cu-SSZ-13 catalysts. It was found that the high-temperature activity of the catalysts unexpectedly increased after hydrothermal treatment. The characterization results showed that hydrothermal treatment promoted the production of CuO species and changed the SCR reaction mechanism in the catalysts.

La promoted CuO-MnOx catalysts for optimizing SCR performance of NO with CO

Tangkang Liu et al.

Summary: La-Cu-Mn-O catalysts with different La contents were prepared and evaluated for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NO by CO (CO-SCR). Lanthanum was found to be conducive in reducing the size of copper and manganese particles, preventing their agglomeration, and enhancing the reducibility of the catalysts. This led to the increase in exposed active sites and a high proportion of active ions on the surface, promoting NO conversion at lower temperatures.
