Influence of different synthesis conditions on the chemo-enzymatic epoxidation of tall oil fatty acids

Mikelis Kirpluks et al.

Summary: In this study, tall oil, a by-product of the cellulose pulping process, was successfully valorised for polyol precursor synthesis by optimizing the parameters. The research found that a relatively high conversion towards oxirane rings can be achieved under certain conditions. By adjusting variables such as impurity content, catalyst concentration, and temperature, the synthesis process becomes more feasible and efficient.

Synergistic epoxidation of palm oleic acid using a hybrid oxygen carrier solution

Intan Suhada Azmi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of different oxygen carriers on the epoxidation of palm oleic acid and finds that formic acid has the highest relative conversion to oxirane at a reaction time of 25 min. The use of a hybrid oxygen carrier solution can reduce the use of formic acid and minimize the acidic environment. The kinetic model accurately predicts the reaction kinetics of the epoxidation process.

Modifiers versus Channels: Creating Shape-Selective Catalysis of Metal Nanoparticles/Porous Nanomaterials

Chuanzhen Fang et al.

Summary: Creating shape selectivity in MNPs/porous nanomaterials by poisoning certain MNPs can lead to efficient catalysis. The remaining MNPs cooperate with the channels to generate selectivity. This strategy is promising in selective catalytic systems with potential for different MNPs, corresponding modifiers, and porous nanomaterials.
