Molecular and Clinical Characterization of LAG3 in Breast Cancer Through 2994 Samples

Qiang Liu et al.

Summary: Despite the promising impact of cancer immunotherapy targeting CTLA4 and PD1/PDL1, many cancer patients do not respond. LAG3, another inhibitory receptor, may play a crucial role in regulating the immune microenvironment in breast cancer and potentially serve as a biomarker. LAG3 may synergize with other immune checkpoints, contributing to the improvement of combination cancer immunotherapy.

Right and Left Colorectal Cancer: Differences in Post-Surgical-Care Outcomes and Survival in Elderly Patients

Irene Miron Fernandez et al.

Summary: This investigation aimed to analyze the differences in survival between right and left colon cancer, finding that patients with right colon cancer have a worse prognosis even in early stages. It is crucial to implement early detection and personalized treatment strategies to improve the survival and quality care of these patients. (1) Evidence of embryological, anatomical, histological, genetic, and immunological differences between right and left colon cancer was found. (2) A longitudinal analytical study with a case-control design was conducted from 2010 to 2017, including 398 patients matched 1:1 based on tumor location. (3) The results showed significant differences in evolution, progression, complications, and survival between right and left colon cancer. Patients with right colon cancer had more advanced disease characteristics leading to a worse prognosis.

LAG-3 Expression Predicts Outcome in Stage II Colon Cancer

Gaelle Rhyner Agocs et al.

Summary: The study found that LAG-3 expression on TILs is significantly associated with better 5-year DFS in patients with stage II colon cancer, particularly in LAG-3-positive TILs at the tumor front. LAG-3 assessment may help predict outcomes in stage II colon cancer patients.

LAG-3 is expressed on a majority of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in pediatric Hodgkin lymphoma

Scott Moerdler et al.

Summary: In pediatric Hodgkin lymphoma, LAG-3 expression is found to be positively correlated with PD-L1 expression, serving as an innovative immune checkpoint target with unclear association to patient outcomes.
