Triangular ratio metric in the unit disk

Oona Rainio et al.

Summary: The triangular ratio metric is studied in a domain G subset of R-n, n >= 2. Several sharp bounds are proven for this metric, especially in the case where the domain is the unit disk of the complex plane. The results are applied to study the Holder continuity of quasiconformal mappings.

HYPERBOLIC METRICS ON OPEN SUBSETS OF PTOLEMAIC SPACES WITH SHARP PARAMETER BOUNDS

Summary: The construction on open subsets of Ptolemaic spaces yields Gromov hyperbolic metrics with parameter log 2 and strongly hyperbolic metrics with parameter 1 when the subset has boundary containing at least two points, without further conditions on the open set. A class of examples on Hadamard manifolds shows that these estimates of the parameters are sharp.

On cyclic quadrilaterals in euclidean and hyperbolic geometries
