Susceptibility to flavescence doree of different Vitis vinifera genotypes from north-western Italy

Matteo Ripamonti et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the susceptibility to flavescence doree of 12 Vitis vinifera cultivars, identifying low susceptibility varieties that can potentially offer genetic traits for disease tolerance/resistance. Ranking Vitis genotypes for their susceptibility to FD can assist vine growers in making informed decisions based on specific epidemiological contexts.

Phloem and xylem modifications of Vitis vinifera stems in response to flavescence doree phytoplasma infection

Luca Jelmini et al.

Summary: This study described and quantified the anatomical modifications of grapevine stem tissues infected by flavescence doree phytoplasma (FDp), showing that the infection leads to inhibition of xylem growth and proliferation of phloem tissues. Differences were observed in susceptibility to FDp infection between tolerant and susceptible grapevine cultivars.
