Comparison of automated office blood pressure measurement with 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurement

Laura E. J. Peeters et al.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the agreement between 30 and 60-minute automated office blood pressure (AOBP) measurements and 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurement (24-h ABPM). The results showed relatively low agreement between the two methods, and there was a significant difference in diagnosing hypertension.

Interrupted sleep by ambulatory blood pressure monitoring does not affect blood pressure

Xue Geng et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of different sleep conditions on blood pressure fluctuations during ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). The results showed that sleep conditions did not affect blood pressure values and rhythms, regardless of whether the participants had insomnia or not. However, for non-insomniac individuals, sleep situations during ABPM may affect blood pressure variation.

Introducing the importance and difficulties of a three-step approach to improve nonadherence to antihypertensive drugs: a case series

Laura E. J. Peeters et al.

Summary: This article presents a three-step method to improve nonadherence to antihypertensive drugs, which includes identifying nonadherent patients, determining underlying causes, and providing personalized solutions. Through the analysis of several cases, the authors demonstrate that even when nonadherence is excluded, this three-step method can still lead to personalized solutions for improving therapy.

Summary: This study developed a single DBS method for accurately measuring the concentrations of multiple antihypertensive drugs, which can be used to assess patient adherence. The method validation process revealed the challenge of balancing analytical limitations and clinical needs.
