Ultrasensitive photoelectrochemical aptasensor for detecting telomerase activity based on Ag2S/Ag decorated ZnIn2S4/C3N4 3D/2D Z-scheme heterostructures and amplified by Au/Cu2+-boron-nitride nanozyme

Jian-Hong Zhu et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel aptasensor was designed for ultra-sensitive detection of telomerase activity by utilizing Au nanoparticles and Cu2+-modified boron nitride nanosheets as nanozyme. By using Ag2S/Ag nanoparticles decorated ZnIn2S4/C3N4 Z-scheme heterostructures and PEC signal amplification strategy, an aptasensor with a wide linear range and low detection limit was successfully developed.

Theophylline-regulated pyrolysis synthesis of nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes with iron-cobalt nanoparticles for greatly boosting oxygen reduction reaction

Wei Zhang et al.

Summary: Developing economical, efficient, and stable electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is crucial in alleviating the energy shortage. In this study, FeCo alloy was successfully confined in N-doped carbon nanotubes (FeCo/NCNTs-800) with the assistance of theophylline (THP), which can be easily extracted from natural plants. The resulting FeCo/NCNTs-800 catalyst exhibited superior ORR performance compared to commercial Pt/C (50 wt%) in an alkaline solution, providing a feasible strategy for the development of transition metal-based carbon catalysts in alkaline fuel cells.

Construction of a Polarity-Switchable Photoelectrochemical Biosensor for Ultrasensitive Detection of miRNA-141

Xiankang Niu et al.

Summary: In this study, a photoelectrochemical biosensing platform was developed for ultrasensitive miRNA-141 detection using CdS quantum dots and Tph-2H coated GCE. By combining an enzyme-assisted recycle amplification reaction and a magnetic bead-based separation strategy, the detection sensitivity of miRNA-141 could be significantly enhanced. The proposed biosensor demonstrated efficient elimination of false-positive or false-negative signals and a wide linear response range with a low detection limit for miRNA-141.

A signal-on photoelectrochemical aptasensor for chloramphenicol assay based on 3D self-supporting AgI/Ag/BiOI Z-scheme heterojunction arrays

Jian-Hong Zhu et al.

Summary: A novel signal-on PEC aptasensor was developed for highly sensitive and selective detection of chloramphenicol. The sensor achieved a wide linear range of 2-250 nM and a low limit of detection of 0.226 nM through the combination of 3D self-supporting AgI/Ag/BiOI Z-scheme heterojunction arrays and BCP signal amplification strategy. This work opens up new possibilities for PEC aptasensing technology and demonstrates potential for bioanalysis of environmental samples.

Anti-Fouling Magnetic Beads Combined with Signal Amplification Strategies for Ultra-Sensitive and Selective Electrochemiluminescence Detection of MicroRNAs in Complex Biological Media

Qiuxia Hao et al.

Summary: An ECL microRNA biosensor was developed using anti-fouling MBs and two signal amplification strategies. The designed anti-fouling dendritic peptide on MBs resisted nonspecific adsorption in biological samples for accurate target recognition. The biosensor demonstrated ultra-high sensitivity and excellent selectivity for miRNA 21 detection, with a detection limit of 0.13 fM, and was capable of assaying targets in complex biological media such as serum and cell lysate.
