Antioxidant effect of Resveratrol: Change in MAPK cell signaling pathway during the aging process

Milena Almeida Santos et al.

Summary: Aging is associated with an increase in ROS levels, and resveratrol can reduce ROS levels in both age groups, with greater efficiency observed in the middle-aged group. Inhibiting PKA, Akt/PKB, and MAPK signaling pathways can alter the antioxidant effects of resveratrol and change the signaling pattern of the MAPK pathway during the aging process.

Anti-Inflammatory Action and Mechanisms of Resveratrol

Tiantian Meng et al.

Summary: Resveratrol, a natural phytoalexin polyphenol, demonstrates antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic properties, with the ability to modulate inflammatory responses and exhibit immunomodulatory function both in vivo and in vitro.

Resveratrol: Change of SIRT 1 and AMPK signaling pattern during the aging process

Camila Amaro Caldeira et al.

Summary: The study showed that resveratrol can effectively reduce oxidative stress in middle-aged and elderly individuals, with a more significant antioxidant effect in the elderly. Furthermore, resveratrol acts through the SIRT1 pathway, but its mechanism of action changes in the elderly, potentially involving silencing of the AMPK pathway.

The Role of Immune Cells in Oxi-Inflamm-Aging

Irene Martinez de Toda et al.

Summary: Aging is a result of deteriorating homeostatic systems, where chronic oxidative stress and inflammation play crucial roles. The weakening immune system can be used as an indicator of an individual's rate of aging. Lifestyle conditions like social environment, nutrition, and exercise can impact longevity by affecting immune cell function and contributing to oxidative and inflammatory stress.
