Pistachio hull polysaccharide protects Nile tilapia against LPS-induced excessive inflammatory responses and oxidative stress, possibly via TLR2 and Nrf2 signaling pathways

Ghasem Mohammadi et al.

Summary: The study found that Pistacia vera hull polysaccharide (PHP) has positive effects on growth performance, immune gene-related expression, and antioxidative activities in Nile tilapia. It can attenuate LPS-induced oxidative stress and inflammatory responses, possibly through induction of Nrf2 and blockade of TLR2/Myd88/NF-kappa B pathways.

Assessing the Influence of Dietary Pediococcus acidilactici Probiotic Supplementation in the Feed of European Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax L.) (Linnaeus, 1758) on Farm Water Quality, Growth, Feed Utilization, Survival Rate, Body Composition, Blood Biochemical Parameters, and Intestinal Histology

El-Sayed H. Eissa et al.

Summary: Probiotics, specifically lactic acid bacteria, were used to examine their effects on European sea bass. The findings suggest that feeding fish with probiotic-supplemented diets can enhance growth performance, body composition, survival rate, and blood biochemical markers. Additionally, probiotics also improved intestinal histology and water quality parameters.

Effect of Stocking Density and Dietary Protein Level in Biofloc System on the Growth, Digestive and Antioxidant Enzyme Activities, Health, and Resistance to Acute Crowding Stress in Juvenile Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Hossein Adineh et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the effects of stocking densities and dietary protein levels in the biofloc system on the performance of common carp. The results show that the biofloc system with medium density can improve the growth and robustness against stress in fish. The biofloc can also compensate for a 10% reduction of protein in the diet of common carp juvenile.

The effect of Pediococcus acidilactici on mucosal immune responses, growth, and reproductive performance in zebrafish (Danio rerio)

Mojtaba Mohammadi Arani et al.

Summary: The study found that supplementing zebrafish with 4 x 10^6 CFU PA g(-1) improved their growth and reproductive performance, as well as enhancing mucosal immune responses. Additionally, this concentration of PA also impacted alkaline phosphatase activity in skin mucus, intestinal villus length, and the expression of the Cyp19a gene.
