Proposal of a new low-temperature thermodynamic cycle: 3E analysis and optimization of a solar pond integrated with fuel cell and thermoelectric generator

Farayi Musharavati et al.

Summary: The present research introduces a novel hybrid system that integrates a salinity gradient solar pond (SGSP), a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), and a thermoelectric generator (TEG). By utilizing waste heat from PEMFC and recovering waste energy with TEG, the system's overall performance is improved. The study examines the energy, exergy, and economic performance of the proposed system and compares it with two alternative systems without TEG and PEMFC. A parametric study is conducted to analyze the impact of significant parameters on the system's performance. The results demonstrate the advantages of the integrated system and provide optimization strategies for achieving the best performance.
