A novel rough numbers based extended MACBETH method for the prioritization of the connected autonomous vehicles in real-time traffic management

Ilgin Gokasar et al.

Summary: Digital transformation can improve the utilization of congested transportation networks. Real-time traffic management, enhanced by connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs), is an effective solution for road congestion. This study proposes a novel method based on rough numbers and the MACBETH approach to prioritize real-time traffic management systems. The findings demonstrate that real-time traffic management with CAVs is the most advantageous alternative.

MSND: Modified Standard Normal Deviate Incident Detection Algorithm for Connected Autonomous and Human-Driven Vehicles in Mixed Traffic

Ilgin Gokasar et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a modified standard normal deviation (MSND) incident detection algorithm that uses connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) as data sources and evaluates its efficacy using SUMO Traffic Simulation Software. The results show that the proposed method outperforms other incident detection algorithms in terms of detection rate and integrates well with the Variable Speed Limits (VSL) traffic management method to reduce average density in critical regions.

Scrutinizing blockchain applicability in sustainable supply chains through an integrated fuzzy multi-criteria decision making framework

Ismail Erol et al.

Summary: Sustainability has become increasingly important in constructing resilient supply chains. Customers' demand for sustainable products has put pressure on manufacturers and suppliers to become more sustainable globally. Decision-makers are interested in applying disruptive technologies like blockchain to address societal, environmental, and economic concerns. However, existing research lacks a quantitative examination of the critical functions of sustainable supply chains (SSCs) for blockchain applicability. This study investigates the most feasible functions of SSCs for potential blockchain implementations and suggests that sourcing, delivery, transformation, and product recovery are the most appropriate functions. This research provides valuable insights for decision-makers on where blockchain can create additional value in SSCs.

The impact of flexibility and redundancy on improving supply chain resilience to disruptions

Masoud Kamalahmadi et al.

Summary: This paper examines the relative impact of flexibility and redundancy on supply chain responsiveness, finding that the backup-suppliers practice is more effective than the flexible-suppliers practice. It also shows that adding some level of flexibility to a backup-suppliers practice can lower the expected total cost.
