EFNC-Exp: An evolving fuzzy neural classifier integrating expert rules and uncertainty

Paulo Vitor de Campos Souza et al.

Summary: This article proposes the integration of uncertainty in experts' feedback on class labels and expert rules into the classifier architecture for data stream classification with neuro-fuzzy approaches. The results show that explicitly considering the uncertainty of class labels improves the accuracy of the evolving neuro-fuzzy classifier.

Hyperbox-based machine learning algorithms: a comprehensive survey

Thanh Tung Khuat et al.

Summary: This paper provides a comprehensive survey of hyperbox-based machine learning models, categorizing them into fuzzy min-max neural networks, hyperbox-based hybrid models, and other algorithms based on hyperbox representations. Each group is briefly described in terms of model structure, associated learning algorithms, advantages, drawbacks, and real-world applications. Potential future research directions in this field are also discussed.

Accelerated learning algorithms of general fuzzy min-max neural network using a novel hyperbox selection rule

Thanh Tung Khuat et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a method to accelerate the training process of general fuzzy min-max neural network by removing hyperboxes that do not satisfy expansion or aggregation conditions, thus reducing training time. Experimental results show a significant decrease in training time for both online and agglomerative learning algorithms using the proposed method.

An in-depth comparison of methods handling mixed-attribute data for general fuzzy min-max neural network

Summary: GFMM neural network is an efficient neuro-fuzzy system for classification problems, but the current learning algorithms have limitations in handling only numerical valued features. This paper provides potential approaches to adapting GFMM learning algorithms for classification problems with mixed or categorical features, comparing and evaluating three main methods for handling datasets with mixed features.
