Effect of humidity on the microstructure and energy storage properties of polyetherimide

Mengjia Feng et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effect of humidity on the properties of PEI during electrostatic spinning, revealing that humidity influences the microscopic and surface morphology of PEI as well as its dielectric energy storage properties. Results show that humidity significantly impacts the energy storage performance of PEI and this is attributed to the hindering effect of hydroxyl groups on the rotation of phthalimide rings.

Polymer Dielectrics with Simultaneous Ultrahigh Energy Density and Low Loss

Min Zhang et al.

Summary: Polymer dielectrics with high energy density and low dielectric loss have been achieved by grafting zwitterions onto a poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) (PMP)-based copolymer, resulting in increased dielectric constant, enhanced breakdown strength, and maintained low dielectric loss. This breakthrough demonstrates a new strategy for polymer dielectrics to achieve simultaneous high energy density and low dielectric loss, opening up possibilities for compact, efficient, and reliable power electronics.

All-Organic Polymer Dielectrics Containing Sulfonyl Dipolar Groups and π-π Stacking Interaction in Side-Chain Architectures

Haoran Xu et al.

Summary: By incorporating pi-pi stacked biphenyl side groups into dipolar polymers, the dielectric constant and energy density of polymer dielectrics can be enhanced, leading to improved performance. Experimental results show that sulfonyl-containing poly(norbornene) PBTMD-SO2 with biphenyl side groups exhibits stronger orientational polarization and higher energy storage efficiency compared to PTMD-SO2 without such groups.

Achieving Superior Energy Storage Properties of All-Organic Dielectric Polystyrene-Based Composites by Blending Rod-Coil Block Copolymers

Guanghu He et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of rod-coil block copolymers on polymeric dielectrics, improving the dielectric behavior and energy storage properties of blend films by synthesizing PS-b-PBCN copolymers. Experimental results show that adding PBCN or PS-b-PBCN enhances the dielectric constant and breakdown strength of the blend films, achieving high energy storage performance.
