Mori-Tanaka experimental-analytical model for predicting engineering elastic moduli of composite materials

A. F. Fedotov

Summary: This study developed an experimental-analytical model for the homogenized elastic moduli of matrix composites based on the Mori-Tanaka analytical model. The model's fitting parameter was determined by comparing the constrained strains of the experimental sample matrix and the model composite, and a linear relationship between the fitting parameter and the volume fraction of inclusions was used for composites of arbitrary composition. The calculation results showed good agreement with experimental data for isotropic and transversally isotropic composites.
