Mass transfer intensification mechanism of Al2O3 sphere packing in a rotating packed bed

Chi Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, the gas-liquid mass transfer performance of rotating packed bed (RPB) with Al2O3 sphere packing was investigated using CO2-NaOH chemical absorption system. Results showed that the Al2O3 sphere packing in RPB significantly improved adsorption kinetics and mass transfer rates under high gravity field conditions. The experimental data also fitted well with the pseudo-first-order adsorption kinetics model.

Performance investigation of the solar direct-driven wood regenerator in liquid desiccant air-conditioning systems

Dongxu Wu et al.

Summary: Liquid desiccant air-conditioning (LDAC) systems are a promising alternative to conventional air conditioning systems due to their high energy efficiency. This study investigates the regeneration performance of a novel method inspired by solar heat localization for seawater desalination. By fabricating wood-based regenerators and utilizing the solar interfacial regeneration method, efficient regeneration of liquid desiccant is achieved. The results show that the solar interfacial method significantly improves the regeneration rate compared to traditional methods at the same temperature.
