Thermally-activated Delayed Fluorescence for Light-emitting Devices

Hajime Nakanotani et al.

Summary: Utilizing TADF allows for highly efficient electroluminescence in organic light-emitting devices without the need for rare metals. With appropriate molecular design, nearly 100% internal EL quantum efficiency, which is the theoretical limit, can be achieved.

Highly Luminescent Inorganic-Organic Hybrids with Molecularly Dispersed Perylene

Kamonnart Jaa Imwiset et al.

Summary: By incorporating perylene into an inorganic-organic hybrid film, a highly photoluminescent material was achieved. Modification of octosilicate with a cationic surfactant allowed for molecular and uniform accommodation of perylene. Near-unity photoluminescence quantum efficiency was attained in hybrids with a high concentration of perylene.

Efficient Negative Photochromism by the Photoinduced Migration of Photochromic Merocyanine/Spiropyran in the Solid State

Tetsuo Yamaguchi et al.

Summary: Efficient negative photochromism was achieved with the photoinduced migration of merocyanine in mesoporous silica to an organophilic clay as spiropyran. The nature of the organophilic clays played an important role in controlling the negative photochromism, with dioleyldimethylammonium clay showing higher yield and faster reaction compared to dioctadecyldimethylammonium clay.

Luminescence of a laser dye in organically-modified layered silicate pigments

M. Barlog et al.

Summary: The focus of this study was on developing pigments based on layered nanomaterials with luminescent properties by modifying two layered silicates (montmorillonite and saponite) with cationic organic surfactants and a laser dye, which significantly increased fluorescence intensity, especially for montmorillonite hybrids. Advanced statistical analysis was used to differentiate components in fluorescence spectra. By selecting suitable organic cation and dye components, pigments with high fluorescence and long wavelengths approaching the near-infrared region could be prepared.
