Unsteady-state operation of reactors with fixed catalyst beds

Andrey N. Zagoruiko et al.

Summary: The review focuses on the research and development of catalytic processes in the USSR and Russia, specifically looking at reverse-flow operation of catalytic reactors, forced feed composition cycling, and sorption enhancement of catalytic reactions. The study shows that these approaches, when combined with proper process concepts and control strategies, can lead to the creation of new technologies with improved efficiency, lower costs, increased stability, and higher product yield in thermodynamically limited and complex reaction systems.

H2-SCR of NOx on low-SSA CeO2-supported Pd: The effect of Pd particle size

Zena Savva et al.

Summary: The study found that as the size of Pd particles increased, the rate of NO conversion per gram of Pd metal significantly increased, mainly due to the increase in active NOx concentration and the rate of H-spillover.

Mechanistic insight in NO trapping on Pd/Chabazite systems for the low-temperature NOx removal from Diesel exhausts

Summary: The study applied transient response methods to investigate Pd-CHA systems as Passive NOx Adsorbers (PNA) for low-temperature NOx removal from Diesel exhausts. Results showed that Pd-1 was the main NO storage site in mixtures with different oxidizing capabilities, impacting NO storage/release performances of Pd-CHA based PNAs.

Transient Kinetic Analysis of Low-Temperature NH3-SCR over Cu-CHA Catalysts Reveals a Quadratic Dependence of Cu Reduction Rates on CuII

Federica Gramigni et al.

Summary: NO and NH3 can readily reduce CuII at low temperatures according to a 1:1:1:1 stoichiometry over Cu-CHA catalysts. The reduction rates of Cu-II show a quadratic dependence on Cu-II, suggesting a dinuclear-Cu-II mediated RHC pathway. Water significantly inhibits the Cu-II reduction rate in the reaction cascade.
