Electrostatic interaction and surface S vacancies synergistically enhanced the photocatalytic degradation of ceftriaxone sodium

Chen Zhang et al.

Summary: ZnIn2S4 ultrathin 2D nanosheets with positive surface charge are synthesized and S vacancies are induced to enhance the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of ceftriaxone sodium. Increased S vacancies lead to decreased electron density on surface metal atoms and promote the adsorption and activation of ceftriaxone anions. The vacancies also serve as active centers for oxygen absorption and electron gathering, improving the photogenerated hole transfer and CTRX degradation efficiency.
