Isoflurane alleviates hypoxia/reoxygenation induced myocardial injury by reducing miR-744 mediated SIRT6

Summary: Our study demonstrates that ISO pretreatment can significantly regulate miR-744 and its downstream target SIRT6 to mitigate myocardial injury induced by H/R. Elevated miR-744 weakens the protective effect of ISO on H/R-induced myocardial injury, leading to decreased cell viability, increased apoptosis, and elevated concentration of myocardial injury indicators.

This study aimed to characterize the metabolic profile of diabetic cardiomyopathy and its relation to biological processes. The results showed that alterations in metabolites and lipids are closely related to the development of diabetic cardiomyopathy.

Summary: Left ventricular hypertrophy is common in patients with type 2 diabetes and is a strong predictor of adverse cardiovascular outcomes, including heart failure. While antihypertensive treatment can reduce LVH and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, it is not completely effective. Other potential mechanisms such as inflammation, oxidative stress, AMP-activated kinase, and insulin resistance may also play a role in the development of LVH.
