Socioeconomic inequalities in children's health-related quality of life according to weight status

Diogo Costa et al.

Summary: The study found that 24.9% of children were categorized as having overweight/obesity. The mean scores of the Physical Well-Being and School Environment dimensions of HRQoL were lower among children classified with overweight/obesity compared to children with normal weight. Father's education was significantly associated with all HRQoL dimensions in children with a normal weight, but not among children with overweight/obesity.

Health-related quality of life in adolescents: individual and combined impact of health-related behaviors (DADOS study)

Alba Solera-Sanchez et al.

Summary: Adolescents' sleep patterns and screen time have a significant individual relationship with health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and those achieving at least 3 positive health-related behaviors show higher HRQoL levels compared to those fulfilling none. The likelihood of high HRQoL increases with the number of positive health-related behaviors achieved.

Impact of sleep duration, physical activity, and screen time on health-related quality of life in children and adolescents

Carlos K. H. Wong et al.

Summary: This study aimed to establish the population norm of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in children and adolescents aged 6-17 years and examine the associations of screen time, sleep duration, and physical activity with HRQoL in this population. The findings suggest that children and adolescents with longer screen time exposure, shorter sleep duration, and lower levels of physical activity tend to have poorer HRQoL as assessed by PedsQL and EQ-5D-Y-5L.

Sleep and its relation to health-related quality of life in 3-10-year-old children

Anna Lena Sundell et al.

Summary: The study reveals the correlation between children's sleep and health-related quality of life, with few children sleeping less than 8 hours per night. Younger children tend to have higher sleep problems, and these issues can affect children's psychological and physical well-being, as well as their school environment.
